As you might remember, I recently bought a kilo of dried lavender from Black Adder ( a third party seller on Amazon) and am now wandering around in the happy state of ‘to a man with a hammer, everything looks like a nail’. Everything looks like a lavender sachet to me. Lavender is reputed have calming properties besides having a simply lovely fragrance so popping lavender into little bags and sachets makes for a charming and practical combination. I have them all over the house – in drawers, wardrobes, hot press and just here and there to provide natural fragrance about the home.
With Easter coming up (April 6th) it’s a perfect time to make a few lavender sachets with a bunny rabbit theme. The one in the picture is for a baby boys’ nursery and is more of a small cushion than sachet being some 8″ x 8″ square.
I had remnants from a prettily fresh potted-plant print fabric in 100% cotton, some small bobbly trim (like semolina on string but ever-so-soft and fleecy) and some gorgeously, even more soft, warm fleecy wadding. The little sachet is filled with Craft Factory Super Soft Toy-quality Stuffing – and lavender of course – tucked inside a little muslin bag.
I designed the stencil in Illustrator, printed it onto 300 gsm card, cut it out then coated both sides of the paper with a thin layer of Modge Podge to keep it clean and extend its life. Stencils can be used over and over again for quite some time this way before they need printing and cutting out again.
You can buy the stencil here ready for you to print in PDF format. Show some bunny that some bunny loves them!
The PDF will be sent to the e-mail account that makes the payment via Paypal.
