A quick chicken scratch of a post

I have had a busy time this last week or so – happy busy with visitors.  We took them to the airport on Sunday, a very blustery, hooley of a day. (Do you find airports are ‘insta-blub’ kind of places? I can feel the tears start to well as soon as I get inside). Got a message when they got home to say the flight was HORRIBLE with turbulence. I can well believe it. Glad they got back safely though.

Anyway, they had brought over a bottle of Aleene’s Tack-It Over and Over Again (I ordered it from Amazon and had it shipped to them and they brought it over – the stockist didn’t ship to Ireland). It’s a great glue for re-stickying carrier sheets, apparently (see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_QUfPpiw1kU for more information).

I haven’t tried it yet but hope it is as good as the claims – no nasty re-po spray glue vapours or fumes… or freezing outside to use the spray. no masking tape to bother with… now my visitors have left I may try it and cut a couple of new projects out if I get time as I have more visitors arriving on Friday! The ferry port this time! Clap hands! So spare time this week will be spiffing the place up again, making beds, thinking of foods to have in, planning days out, etc. Lovely!

Also, you know the feeling that you believe you have found the love of your life and will never love again… then you get swept off your feet? It’s happened to me. No, not a man! Mr Tree is my heart so no dangers there! No, I have fallen in love with a Black Cat Cougar cutting machine and have one ordered! Not that I have any issues with the Craft Robo Pro, as such, although the two ‘cheap’ blades they sent me as a gift for showing my work on a shopping channel a year or so ago lasted about a fortnight each so I bought one of the expensive blades and that’s going strong still like the original one that came with the machine. I shall keep the two machines and have one upstairs and one downstairs now! The shipping of the Cougar is imminent and I’m all excited.

On one of the trips into Dublin last week, I bought the most beauuuutiful and fab material! I saw it and had to have it. Didn’t know what I’d use it for but knew I must have it. What is it that Hannibal Lecter says to Clarice? Something about coveting something starts with the eye and seeing…?

Got home and first opportunity presented itself to me – a cover for my graphics tablet that I use with downstairs laptop.  The pictures show the front and back views, btw. Since then, I have made another for a friend and still have some fabric left over so may do an Ipad and a phone cover.  They are very easy to make and I sandwich a layer of wadding between the cover and lining for extra protection. If you should want me to write up the template and post it, let me know.

I’ll leave you with some thoughts on the nature of the universe by Deepak Chopra: “We are thoughts that have learned how to create the physical machine. We are impulses of intelligence in a larger universe of intelligence. A thinking universe”.

Mind blowing stuff – more thought-provoking and philosophical that the hooley wind than has blown the stuffing out of everyone here lately.

Have fun, love yourself and the life you have.

How timely! Yes, I’d love to see your iPad case and its write-up because I will be making one very soon. The new iPad is a bonus that comes with our new car! We’ll be getting a check with which to buy it very soon, and if I can make the case before we get it, so much the better!

    Hugs Hel
