Illustrator swooshy brush

Thought I’d show you the text before the sparkles – you can see I’ve used offset path a number of times with different fills and chopped one layer in half to create the two-colour text in the middle and overlaid and intersected some spiky triangle ‘teeth’ to give the zig-zag effect… but what I’m really pleased with are the curls tucked into curves of the letterforms here and there. Why so pleased with them? Because I created a little ‘swooshy’ pattern brush in Illustrator that just curls and twirls around spirals and paths like a dream. I am thinking of writing up the tut on creating a pattern brush (you know, with corners, beginning and end bits) and feature this versatile and useful little brush. If anyone is interested let me know and I’ll get it done one evening this week.

      Hi Kelly,
      Thanks chick!

I’ll write up the instructions this weekend and publish them – they’re not difficult so you’ll soon be making lots of variations for yourself!

I’m not sure I can do that in PSE, but I’d sure love to. This is just gorgeous!

      Hi B,
Thank you for the lovely comment! I doubt you could make this brush in PSE as it’s made with Illustrator – but I could be wrong! Give it a go and let me know!
