A pretty set of 3D papercraft baby shoes for favours or as a keepsake gift. The set includes the cutting template for the baby shoes, the presentation box and the elephant shaped tag. The shoes have a charming cut out design around the front and sides and include a scalloped sole as a bit of fancy frou-frou! Fasten with a brad or some ribbon to add the finishing touches. The box lid has a sweetheart design aperture (use a rectangle of acetate and adhere underneath to turn it into a window). The box lid has extra panel templates for you to cut from contrasting paper and adhere to the four sides (not shown) For extra rigidity the base has double-fold sides.
In addition, there is a delightful elephant-shaped tag – this comes in two parts so that you can write your message on one and cover with another. Cut from contrasting papers to make the elephant’s eye and fold-back ear pop! The electronic cutting file is available as an SVG for personal, non-commercial use only, and costs 5.50 euro.

Thought I’d show you the paper baby shoes I’m working on at the moment. Am also going to mod the template to have the strap ‘do up’ at the side and then will make a pretty box for them. I know what it is I want to make and it shouldn’t take long so will hopefully post over the weekend some time.
A lovely little robot pop-up called Bindy. It folds flat inside a card then pops up when it’s opened. I think this works for males and females for a whole load of different occasions. And who doesn’t like a cute robot?! There’s also plenty of room to add your words or a plaque with your sentiment on.
It’s available as a GSD or SVG file with a sheet of instructions in PDF format. You will need a Craft Robo, Silhouette or Cameo (or other compatible cutting machine) to cut this template out.
It costs 4.00 euro. Payment is through Paypal and the file will be sent to you via e-mail when your payment is received.
Thought I’d show you the text before the sparkles – you can see I’ve used offset path a number of times with different fills and chopped one layer in half to create the two-colour text in the middle and overlaid and intersected some spiky triangle ‘teeth’ to give the zig-zag effect… but what I’m really pleased with are the curls tucked into curves of the letterforms here and there. Why so pleased with them? Because I created a little ‘swooshy’ pattern brush in Illustrator that just curls and twirls around spirals and paths like a dream. I am thinking of writing up the tut on creating a pattern brush (you know, with corners, beginning and end bits) and feature this versatile and useful little brush. If anyone is interested let me know and I’ll get it done one evening this week.
About Me and the Tree
I’m Mrs Mc but you can call me Elly. It’s lovely that you’ve somehow stumbled across me here on my blog as I don’t do much in the way of social media or promote my blog or Etsy shop (Paper Pictures by EllieEmyn).
I love animals, especially cats. We had our lovely old ginger tom from tom kitten to elderly gent (20 +) when he died.
We now have two more. A rescue cat called Jess who has become so sweet and affectionate compared to the fearful, aggressive banshee that she once was, nearly four years ago.
And Gracie. We met her as a dirty, tired little kitten with mouse droppings in her fur, about a month after we got Jess.
We took her in after watching her being hooshed out of a local St Vincents charity shop time and again when she wanted to curl up in one of the baskets and have a sleep.
She ran from everybody until Mr Tree just walked over and picked her up. She just curled up in his arms and we knew she was for us.
Me? I work with and enjoy new technologies and software and live with a geeky engineer who makes me laugh and adores me like a queen.
I’ve got two great boys, all grown up now and doing really well.
I don’t say too much about any of us though as I like to retain some privacy. I know you’re a good soul but the internet has its share of trolls, hackers and down right nasties that make sharing too much information dangerous.
Anyhow, enjoy having a look around. I’m chatty and will write forever but also use the Singing Tree to save hand embroidery, recipes, cutting templates, sewing patterns, crochet patterns and indulge in some show and tell.
You can find a number of my Photoshop and Illustrator tutorials for free here as well.
In fact, most of my templates and design are free, though there are a few I’ve put up for sale. Anything else is for inspiration and enjoyment.
