Well, I finally got round to having a bash at a sliceform snowflake. I don’t think snowflakes lend themselves to being rounded out…. anyhow, mine looks more like a marine contact mine, or possibly a satellite that’s dropped out of orbit and landed in my kitchen. Hey, if it gets me Sky+ for nothing, I’m not complaining! I’ll try to salvage something from it, though and bling it up as a Christmas decoration, make a few more and string them together with nylon thread. Maybe as snowballs. Or Christmas stars. Or contact mines!
See what you think:

The GSD is here for those of you that might be interested in it:

I like this a lot. It looks like a sparkler burning. Or maybe an atomic particle of some sort. Or Bit from Tron? (See the paper models here: http://tektonten.blogspot.com/2009/01/tron-papercraft-bit.html)
Wow! Beauty certainly is in the eye of the beholder. Glad you like it. My sliceform is to snowflakes as Doc Martens are to ballet pumps, I think! Can see the Tron connection, too! Ha ha!
I had a look-see on your site – you did some nifty ones that look pretty cute so they can be done nicely. Back to the drawing board for me!
Would you be willing to share your Robo file of this?
I wasn’t going to release the file mainly because I don’t like it much but have now posted it. There you go!
