Pergola Pazzazz

After giving the pergola a Christmas makeover it seems to have stirred up some party-mad pergola pazzazz! I have now made six different Christmas themed pergolas for friends – each different in keeping with the spirit of no two snowflakes being identical. I design them in Illustrator and cut them with my Craft Robo. The sides incorporate snowflakes I designed some time ago – toppers repurposed by welding them to the side structures.

This is the last one I made and is smaller than those in the previous pictures, not by a lot, but enough to give it a touch of daintiness. The main structure – a slice form,  is made up from silver Conqueror concept and the inner snowflake from Conqueror metallic champagne paper.

    Hi,
This is a beautiful pergola design and I have a cutting machine that I would like to try it on. Did you ever make the file for sale?
    Best Regards

      Hello Mary,
      Thank you for your comment.

I haven’t put the pergola up for sale purely because it’s so difficult to describe how to construct it and that every time I try to do so, I flake! The actual construction ISN’T that hard but it is fiddly. Finding the words to instruct and setting up pictures etc, are challenging. Even a video would be a chore because I’d have to edit out the fiddling time.

I have had many requests for it now so maybe I should bite the bullet. I promise I will give this some thought and make an announcement in due course.

Thank you again for your comment and interest, it’s a real boost and inspiration to carry on designing.
      Warm regards
      Ellie

Oh good, thank you so much for considering it. Maybe the fiddly part can be handled like on the cooking shows where they have several of the same dish in different stages of preparation and just point to the next part together in order to continue smoothly with the demonstration and not have to edit. Good luck!

Thanks Mary, I think your approach sounds like the way to go with it! And you’ve put a smile on my face this rainy morning! I was thinking about the Great Britssh Bake Off competition on the telly and how my pergola might collapse like little Dorett’s souffle. I will get it cut out this week and see about photographing or filming the steps and let’s see how it goes.

Have a happy one, Hel x

    Hello,
I think this is so lovely, one of the nicest I’ve ever seen. I would love to have this pergola file when you are ready to video instructions and sell it. I would be interested in having a Studio V.2 or SVG format.

    Good day,
Your work is beyond amazing!!!!!!!!!!! Do you sell a cutting file for your Pergola Pazzazz? I would be interested in either a SVG or STUDIO file format.

Thank you again and again for adding so much beauty to the world of crafting!

    Take care,

    Jay

      Hi Jay,

Thank you for your lovely words! I rarely get comments and the blog has become a repository for my files and pictures so when I get a comment I’m actually blown away. I have been asked for this file before and the reason I don’t sell or give it away is because I just don’t have the time to write up the instructions and it wouldn’t be fair to sell it without any help.

I’m planning on making a few videos and if I can edit them successfully I’ll make one for the pergola and sell it and will e-mail you personally to let you know.

Thank you for making my day.

      Helen
