Butterfly pop up card

Pop up cards are my favourite at the moment and have been busy making up templates and now have a nice collection… Sites like Robert Sabuda’s offer an excellent selection of easy to make templates as well as links to other sites around the world. The other sites offer inspiration only, in the main, so it’s up to you and me to figure out how they did them! I like a challenge and working them out is something I enjoy. The pictures below are from a card I made using a pattern from Marivi’s web site (converted it into folds and cuts in Illustrator so I could output to my Craft Robo). The template is so pretty.

This card is beautiful!! How did you do the front of the card?
Do you have files available for it? I tried to make a cut file in MTC, without success, for the butterfly insert. I don’t have adobe Illustrator.
I would REALLY like to make one of these!!
    Keep up the beautiful work!!

Thank you for your lovely comments. The front of the card was made very simply, I embossed some corduroy card using one of the Cuttlebug embossing folders and machine stitched it in place.

The inner butterfly pop-up is a freebie on Maria Victoria Garrido’s site. I don’t have the URL to hand but it shouldn’t be hard to find.
It really is a stunningly beautiful pop up but can only be distributed from her site so look her up – she is amazingly talented and produces some wonderful paper creations with lots of free templates. You won’t be disappointed.

A good alternative to Illustrator is Inkscape – it is free and I believe there are lots of tutorials and help available for it. Again, really worth downloading and skilling up with it – it will open up a wide range of possibilities to you!

      Good luck!
